Audition for American Inventor season two day 2 - Monday. So today I spent 6 more hours waiting to not be able to successfully pitch the car. On the trip back I thought of a derivative product that I could have pitched after the car didn't fly (between the car itself and the fact that my middle name is Tyrannosaurus Rex they gave me every opportunity), but it was too late. Anyway there was an upside, while I was waiting and showing off pictures of the car, it turned out that the guy who received the bodies off the boat from England chirped in. He mentioned how everyone one of the coupe bodies had been step on and damaged in shipping. Once again we find that the copy has advantages over the original.

Audition for American Inventor season two day 1 - Sunday. Took 45 minutes to find a parking place for car on trailer. Waited in line all day. Made many 'Line Buddies' got my application checked for correctness, and was told to come back tomorrow where I will be in the first hundred to be interviewed.

The good new is that I was parked in a lot behind the 'DUB' auto show in the other convention hall. As I was pulling out I got probably the best compliment yet for the car ... on of the guys from one of the custom shops pointed to my car and said "F*$K look at that"

Long over due updates.

Lets see I'm getting ready to audition for American Inventor season two this Sunday. I'm going to see about putting the car on a trailer and taking it up the coast to LA on Saturday. I don't think I can make the final four, but the car is beautiful and I think it will make some good TV; I hope to make at least best of the rest.

Just got back from the Baja 250 where I spent an exhausting 4 days.

I've got a circuit being tested for balancing the batteries (finally) I hope to have the car smokin' next month.

February had a lot of non-car things going on. Including me taking on some software consulting work to pay the bills while I try to get the battery packs engineered.

Model ShootMid January , 2007

Took the car up the cost for an EV calendar shoot. It was organized by Jon Mack who was one of the five models there, and the only one we have permission to use at this time.

Mid January , 2007

Drove car on trailer to Malibu for interview and photo shoot for Robb Report. They have written up a two page story with photo's that will be in the June issue space permitting.

So right now my job is to test drive 2SSIC and answer questions about the car.

The best job I've had so far :)

Next week I have to take her to two photo shoots, yeah!

AltCarExpo Was Insane! But in a good way. We started with a five mile parade where as far as I'm concerned I had the best look vehicle there and there wasn't a close second :) The car performed GREAT! I was a little worried about the ramp up from the pier, I had driven the car on a hill yet, and I was running 10% power. It was effortless and had enough power to blow away a lot of those other cars :)

Talked to a lot of people, got asked for two photo shoots of the car for calendars (first one will be early January), and interview with photo shoot, an appearance in a pilot show, lots of interviews, lot of great response. My favorite was hearing 'Oh my god' when someone saw my car (it happened 3 times that I know of). Looks like we will have the car sales we need to start a full shop and will be looking early 2007 for launch date.

Thanks to everyone, it was great!
Unfortunately I caught something while I was there that knocked me on my but for a week (probably from the friend I was staying with).

December 1, 2006

Not a great day. Getting ready for the car show and was informed that my battery charger won't be available for the car show. Which means that I won't be able to put my a123 batteries (because I wouldn't be able to recharge them). So ordered a set of Optima's cha-ching $1,350 which I can easily recharge with my 48 volt golf cart charger. But at least I wasted 2.5 hours trying to get parts for the batteries I'm now not using.

I'm also trying to get a hold of the insurance agent that will be issuing the policy I need for the show without luck. So then gravity decides to remind me who is in charge; first I drop and break one of my headlights and then brush a container causing a box of nuts and bolts to spill and a metal object to fall on the car (no damage, thank goodness) .

At this point I stepped away from the car and worked on other, non breakable things.

Spent all day getting my car back from the painter (see above picture). The towing company wouldn't go there today (they did drop it off there) and UHual was a nuisance as always.

Got back from SCORE Baja 1000. Wow exhausting! (I was working with the Rally Track people) Got amazing response to the poster I made to promote our race cars; there was a crowd of people standing around my poster at the vehicle staging area!

The car is painted and the painter is mounting all emblems, mirror, etc. (thus making sure I screw up his paint job :).

Car is at Miller Custom (the painter)..

I will be at the Baja 1000 next week and then hope to have the car running a week after that. I plan on taking it to the Santa Monica Alternate Car show December 11 and 12.

More final assembly pictures.

It is kind of fun for me that I'm using bullet proof glass (lexan) to protect myself and any passenger from critical motor failure.
